Gen XY is the young adult ministry of North Church for men and women, couples and singles, parents and non-parents, LGBTQ and straight persons who want to connect with God and each other.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved. On Sunday mornings at 9:45, members meet to share and discuss raising young families. On Wednesday evenings, Gen XY meet for pitch-in dinners and discussion. Second Sunday Socials are organized monthly with a focus on fellowship and building relationships.
Wherever you are in your journey as a young adult, you are invited to join this group and find others to walk with in life and discipleship.
Mid-North Shepherd’s Center
The Mid-North Shepherd’s Center is committed to engaging the hearts, minds, and spirits of older adults. The Center, an affiliate of Shepherd’s Centers of America, was started in 1982 and has been meeting at North since its beginning. Older adults from across the city and outlying suburbs attend Adventures in Learning held each Wednesday. Day-trips, language classes, and rehearsals for our performing choral group round out the weekly schedule. Thanks to the generous support of individuals, local businesses, foundations, and sponsoring congregations, the Center’s programs are primarily offered free of charge. Lunch at the Center is served each Wednesday for a nominal fee. This community group is filled with engaging older adults. Contact the Executive Director, Jeff Linnan.
RMN: Reconciling Ministries Network
Through Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN), North Church is part of a larger movement to make the United Methodist Church more inclusive of all people, especially LGBTQ persons. RMN-North, LGBTQ persons and straight allies, offers leadership to North Church’s overall efforts towards greater inclusion and equality. Members of RMN-North participate in the Indiana RMN team, coordinate North Church’s presence at Indy Pride, and offer special programs like recognizing National Coming Out Day.
